The hurts that we all carry around with us can harm us mentally and
physically. Why do these things harm some and not others? Good
question. Deborah King talks about her own life and the hurts that
she carried around with her.
She goes through each energy center (and there are seven) and shows
us what type of hurt may harm that particular part of our body as
related to an energy center.
She also gives us a story of a celebrity that she equates with the
problem and the energy center.
Her basic answer is to let it out. Don't keep secrets or be silent.
These lies, to ourselves, that we're okay when we're not do harm
our bodies in ways that may not be perceivable at first.
Yes it takes work and yes it's hard and sometimes difficult to
face. But when the dark secret comes into the light, we feel so
much better. No more lies or trying to cover up or feeling less
than.
Learn to speak your truth. Be advised that you may make others
upset with you or lose friends and family along the way because
they may not want the secret to come out.
Good job Deborah!
must read!Reviewed by Melba A. Dalcour, 2009-12-05
I brought this book for a 76 year old woman who still hasn't healed from her childhood trauma. The book opened the door to her healing and will hopefully bring her to look with joy into her future. It was easy and quick to read, and will be reread several times in the future.
Courageous and thought-provokingReviewed by Christine Powers, 2009-11-24
I stumbled across Deborah King's radio show on [...] and was
immediately hooked. She is a truly remarkable healer and expert in
whole-health wellness. So, I bought the book. I picked it up on a
Saturday and didn't put it down until late the same night. I just
had to keep going and going.
Parts of the book are so intense you literally squirm in your seat,
and there are sections sprinkled with celebrity profiles that 1)
help you remember how chakra issues are manifested in ailments and
behaviors, but 2) they also serve to "bring you back up" to the
surface so you can keep reading. The book is organized topically
very well with each Chapter devoted to a different chakra and
something critical in Deborah's life to tie it togther.
Deborah writes in a consise, hard-hitting, no-nonsense style that I
found very easy to read and relate to. And the Chapters are
chock-full of practical information on what physical ailments
relate to what chakra imbalance, and WHY this happens, and best of
all, what to do about it. Her personal story of transformation is
shocking, beautiful, and truly courageous all at once.
If you are a student of the spiritual, a survivor of abuse, or
interested in learning about the chakra energy system, you really
have to read this book. I grew from it, and you will to.
Helpful and practicalReviewed by Susan Reynolds, 2009-09-25
I liked this book. There isn't a lot of fluff. The excersizes were helpful. The author gets right to the heart of the matter.
